Country Bear Christmas Special

Seasonally, beginning December 19, 1984

IT'S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

[Melvin]
Oh, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
Had a very...

[Max]
Hey, Melvin. That's supposed to be my song.

[Melvin]
Huh?

[Max]
Look, Melvin. I'm the deer. I'm the one with the red nose, so I get to sing the...

[Buff]
Ain't we gone thorugh all this before?

[Melvin]
Well, I don't see why he always gets to sing the...

[Henry]
Hold the phone there, boys. Where's your Christmas spirit? Sorry, folks. (clears his throar) Gomer, let's show 'em how it's done.

[Max]
Ain't he a sight for sore eyes.

[Buff]
He sounds better than he looks. That's for sure.

[Henry]
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Yep.
Soon the bells will start.
And the thing that'll make 'em ring,
Is a carol that you sing,
From within your heart.

(chuckles)
Howdy, folks and welcome to this special Christmas celebration at the good old Country Bear Jamboree. The snow is softly fallin', the stockin's are hung and, comin' from the kitchen, there's the sweet smell of turkey and yams.

[Melvin]
Mmm-mmm.

[Henry]
But the prettiest sight to see,
Is the holly that will be,
On your own front door.

TRACKS IN THE SNOW

[Henry]
Ladies and gents, the Five Bear Rugs!

When the snow begins a fallin'
And your gun begins to freeze.
It's time to halt and holler
And stop your route in ease.

So clappin' down on banjo ,
A bear's got a lot to sing.
It's time for sittin' idle
Like a summer on a swing

We're makin' tracks in the snow.
Everything is rosy.
No more hibernating, boys.
We're up on our feet.

We're makin' tracks in the snow.
Gettin' warm and cozy.
Shiverin' and shakin'
To that good 'ol country beat.

I like to sit with fire
On a cold, dark winter night.
When the wind is over-raftin'
And the stars are shining bright.

My feet upon my huntin' dog,
My arm around my wife.
They may be old and tooth-less,
But I had them all my life.

We're makin' tracks in the snow.
Everything is rosy.
No more hibernating, boys.
We're up on our feet.

We're makin' tracks in the snow.
Gettin' warm and cozy.
Shiverin' and shakin'.
To that good 'ol country beat.

Shiverin' and shakin' .
To that good 'ol country beat.

OH, WHAT A CHRISTMAS!

On the first day of Christmas,
I said to my mate,
I'm a' goin' a' huntin'
And I might be home late.

The next day of Christmas,
I lost my way,
And I ain't seen my cabin
Since dawn yesterday.

Oh, what a Christmas.
I'm lonely and lost,
And shakin' and sneezin'
(sniffles)
And c-c-covered with frost.

I fell in the river,
And lost all my food.
Don't sing me no carols,
'Cause I ain't in the mood.

Next year at Christmas,
I think I'll use my head .
And spend the 12 days of Christmas,
In my bed.

Next year stay home.

[Henry]
You be careful with that squirrel gun now, Wendell.

[Wendell]
Aw, heck. It ain't even loaded. (gunshot) Sorry.

HIBERNATIN' BLUES

DECK THE HALLS

[Zeke]
Deck the halls with boughs of holly.

[Zeke, Zeb, Tenessee]
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.

[Zeb]
(sneezes)
'Tis the season to be jolly.

[Zeke, Zeb, Tennessee]
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.

[Zeb]
(sneezes)

[Tennessee]
Follow me in merry measure.

[Zeke, Zeb, Tennessee]
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la.

[Zeke]
He didn't sneeze.

[Zeke, Zeb Tennessee]
Heedless of the wind and weather.
Fa-la-la-la-la.
Fa-la-la-la-la.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

[Zeb]
Ah...

[Zeke, Tennessee]
...La.

[Zeb]
...choo!

ROCK & ROLL SANTA

BLUE CHRISTMAS

SLEIGH RIDE

HUNGRY AS A BEAR

[Ernest]
The wind is a-howlin'
And thrashin' the trees.

[Tennesse]
My baby is growlin'
And scratchin' her fleas.

[Ernest]
Can't open the door
'Cause there's ten feet of snow.

[Ernest, Zeke, Zeb, Tennessee]
And the food is all gone.
And it's 40 below.

[Tennessee]
(Roars)

[Ernest]
Well, I'm hungry.
Yes, I'm hungry.
I'm hungry as a bear.
If you come around my cabin.

[Ernest, Zeke, Zeb, Tennessee]
You'd better beware.

[Ernest]
'Cause I'm hungry.
Yes, I'm hungry.
I'm hungry as a bear.
Got a mouth full of teeth.

[Ernest]
And a belly full of air.

[Ernest]
This Christmas,
Dear old Santa
Won't show up
I bet.

[Zeke]
1, 2, 3!

[Ernest]
If he comes down the chimney...

[Ernest, Zeke, Zeb, Tennessee]
He might just get et!

[Zeb]
(sneezes)

[Tennessee]
Hungry as a bear.

[Oscar]
(sneezes)

[Ernest]
I'm powerful hungrified.

THE CHRISTMAS SONG

ANOTHER NEW YEAR

[Max]
I sure am lookin' forward to the new year.

[Buff]
Yep. Ain't nothin' like a brand new year to lift your spirits. Of course, I could be wrong.

[Big Al]
Another new year,
Wouldn't be quite as hard.
If you'd come back,
Or at least send a card.

Another new year,
And I'm lonely and low.
Since you stole my heart,
And my truck,
And my dough.

[Buff]
Oh no. Not his truck.

FINALE MEDLEY

[Henry]
Sammy, help me out here.

[Sammy]
Sure, thing Henry. Now, you folks join in if you can mind to.

[Henry & Sammy]
Oh, the weather outside is frightful.
But the fire is so delightful.

[Sun Bonnets]
And since we've no place to go.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Let it snow.

[Max]
Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer,
Had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw it,
You would...

[Melvin]
You would even say it glows.

[Max]
That's my tune, Melvin.

[Melvin]
Oh, yeah? Says who?

[Buff]
Are we startin' this again?

[Terrence]
Sleigh bells ring.

[All]
Are you listenin'.

[Terrence]
In the lane.

[All]
Snow is glistenin'.

[Liver Lips]
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.

[All]
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.

[Teddi Barra]
In the meadow we can build a snowman.
And pretend that he's a circus clown.

[Henry]
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman.

[All]
Until the other kiddies knock him down.

[Big Al]
Winter clothes.

[All]
Ain't it thrillin'.

[Big Al]
Though your nose.

[All]
Gets a chillin'.

[Wendell]
Hey, we'll frolick and play,
The eskimo way.

[All]
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.

[Henry]
Everybody!

[All]
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.

[Henry]
Hand in hand!

[All]
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.

[Wendell]
Yahoo!
(gunshots)

[Henry]
Wendell, will you quit that?

[Wendell]
Sorry.

[Henry]
Rufus! Rufus! How about some lights?

[Big Al]
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.
Walkin' in a winter wonderland.
Walkin' in a winter...Huh?

[Henry]
Over here! Well, folks, I guess that about does it for our show. Now, bundle up, stay warm,...

[Sammy]
...and come back and see us real soon!

[Henry]
Happy holidays, ya'll.

You left out Hibernatin' Blues!

TRIXIE:
Oh the lake's all frozen over
Got my skates and I'm ready to go
But I'm waitin' for my honey
'Cause I can't skate if he don't show

But he's in his cave just snorin'
I hear ya in there, baby!
And don't think I don't!

Well my broken heart's just freezin'
Out here in the snow

I got those hibernatin' blues
Those hibernatin' blues
Without my furry baby
Springtime better come real soon

If you come out and skate with me
I will be real nice
But baby, if you stay inside I'll be
Cold as ice

I got those aggrivatin'
Keep me waitin'
Hibernatin' blues
